Velocity Sports Performance Players of the Game

Sherando: Dalton Boyd, Wide Receiver

Boyd had a breakout game Saturday totaling 6 catches for 123 yards and 3 scores. Boyd is starting to show himself as a viable second option for Ross Metheny to look at. Boyd was able to consistently get behind the Central defense and cause problems all day from the slot receiver position- Game Day Magazine 2008

Velocity Sports Performance Players of the Game

Sherando: Dalton Boyd, Wide Receiver

Boyd led all receivers in the game with 3 catches for 84 yards and a touchdown. He was also relied upon to block down field in the running game, and returned punts for Sherando during the game because of his hands ability. Even though Boyd is a junior, he plays like one of the most experienced players on the field at all times- Game Day Magazine 2008

Scouting Evaluation

Dalton is a very dynamic overall athlete and wide receiver.  When the ball is in his possession, he has the ability to single handedly take over a game.  He is very coachable and is a student of the game.  His competitiveness and toughness gives him that uncanny ability to get the ball while being defended.  He puts extra time in training and in the weight room to improve strength and skills. Dalton's competitiveness and determination on the field also transfer to the classroom.   He is a student-athlete that takes his education and his athleticism very serious.
